Es kommen viele internationale TänzerInnen und wir fliegen für euch Weltklasse-LehrerInnen aus UK ein! Der Weekender ist auch für AnfängerInnen mit Vorkenntnissen geeignet. A weekend full (fancy dress) parties, workshops, show dances and dinners – and lots of time for you to socialise (and even do some sightseeing). We expect lots of international dancers and we fly in world class MJ teachers for you from the UK! The weekender is also suitable for beginners with some previous knowledge of Modern Jive. We recommend to have attended 8 beginner classes_. _Come and join a fun filled weekend of social dancing!

Lee and Dawn – Infos
Lee and Dawn have been teaching, performing and competing together since 2009 and have placed 1st place in local, national and international competitions on over 20 occasions! They have won in many different categories including: Showcase, Aerials, Double Trouble (with Melanie Blackham), and Team Showcase (with ‘Dancing On Air’).
As well as teaching classes and workshops around the UK and abroad they also run their own dance school (Style Dance School) in Hertfordshire where they train students of all ages for dance exams as well as social classes. Dawn qualified with the Leroc Federation (under the UKA) as a Modern Jive teacher in 2009. Lee is also qualified with the Leroc Federation as a Modern Jive teacher, and also qualified as an Associate Ballroom teacher with the prestigious NATD in 2015.
They teach classes in a variety of styles including Ballroom, Latin, Modern Jive, Double Trouble, Aerials, Street Dance / Hip hop and Line Dance. They aim to make all classes fun, as well as informative with high quality content delivered with good humour. They are passionate about dancing and love sharing their experience, as well as continuing to learn and develop as they go.
Matt Evans – Infos
As a boy, Matt struggled in dance classes; flat-footed and unable to understand new concepts, his confidence was low. However when the music played he couldn’t help but groove, and that passion has strength.
After devoting years to learning and competing in Modern Jive dancing, Matt was rechristened “Mevans” and went on to becoming a dance professional, winning multiple, top-level competitions for years running, and holds over 120 trophies to his name.
Humbled by the way of working his way up, the now “Mevans” knows everyone has potential, and endeavours to bring out confidence in dancers while developing their technical skills and movement repertoire.
Believing in yourself is key to success – persist with passion and you’ll experience progress and confidence!
Nele and Jasper – Infos
Nele and Jasper, owners of Jive.Berlin, with weekly classes and monthly parties, they host 2 weekenders a year – with one of them including the German Modern Jive Championships! They love the smooth Kiwi/Australian style of Modern Jive and are also big fans of musicality, expression, dance „conversation“ and general creativity on the dance floor.
Nele also brought a few trophies back to Berlin over the last few years: from 1st place in „Here come the Girls“ 2018 – at the first competition she ever entered (two more 2nd places in this category) and 2025 reaching 1st place in „ProAm“, 3rd in „Dance with a Star“ culminating in 3rd place „Open Smooth“, 3rd place „W.T.F. Open“ and 1st place in „Dance Battle Open“ with Matt Evans.
Nele and Jasper first got to know Modern Jive in New Zealand and Australia where they both had lived for a while. When they came back they missed it so much that Nele decided to bring it here and become a teacher herself. She put in a lot of work to build a local MJ dance community from scratch but her belief in this beautiful and social dance keeps her going through highs and lows. With the help of a great international network of other teachers/friends she was able to start teaching back in 2014 and grow her skills. Thanks to all lovely supporters (the list would be too long)!
