Are you looking for Social Dancing in Berlin — music, movement and real encounters on the dance floor? For us at Neukölln, this is Modern Jive: partner rotation, open round, relaxed atmosphere. Without fixed dance partner, without long preliminary course. How it works for us is written on What is Modern Jive?: Everyone asks everyone to dance, all levels dance together.
Social dance from the first evening
After a short introduction at 19:15, you dance freestyle to music — with changing partners. Around 45 minutes of guided lessons, followed by the area. Dance, laugh, arrive.
No one stands alone for long
Individuals are immediately integrated. Advanced players support beginners, and after the course, they actively encourage them to dance. That is part of our concept.
Pop, disco, soul — all tempos
Focus on pop, disco and soul — from quiet, lyrical songs to funky-expressive tracks. Modern Jive adapts to the tempo, slowly or quickly. We also occasionally dance surprises such as metal or dubstep. Broad mix as a pure niche style.
Start without a partner
partner rotation is normal for us. You don’t have to bring anyone with you — ideal if you want to learn how to dance and don’t know anyone else who’s participating yet.
